CERA · Readiness Evaluation · New Jersey
What the evaluation is, what it costs, and what it will not do.
Everything about a CERA Readiness Evaluation is here: the scope, the price, the method, and the parts of the job it cannot do. It is written to be read cold and to be forwarded, so that whoever decides and whoever has to live with the decision are agreeing to the same thing.
What the evaluation is
A CERA Readiness Evaluation is a fixed piece of work with a fixed price. You export recordings and settings from your own system and send them to us. We measure how far back your recordings actually reach and where the health gaps in your setup sit, against the rule that binds your license. The rule is quoted verbatim in the report, never paraphrased, because a regulation in our own words is not the regulation.
New Jersey cannabis businesses operate under a security and surveillance rule. In its own words, “The original tapes or digital pictures produced by this system shall be stored in a safe place with a 30-day archive,” and the system “shall be continuously monitored, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.” The same rule separately requires that the business “provide access for remote viewing by the Commission.” That last duty belongs to your camera system and is satisfied by your camera vendor. We do not provide it and we do not touch it.
N.J.A.C. 17:30-9.10, security and surveillance requirements. The chapter is public. Please read it yourself at nj.gov/cannabis rather than taking our word for any of it.What you get
A written report, yours to keep whether or not we ever work together. It states in plain terms what your recordings actually hold today, where your setup stands against the requirements that bind it, and which record-keeping artifacts your current system can and cannot produce when footage gets handed to a regulator or an insurer. Where a recording is too dark or too far away to support a conclusion, the report says that instead of dressing it up.
Nothing about the evaluation renews. You pay once, you get the report, and the engagement is complete. Some owners take the report and handle everything else themselves, and that is a finished job as far as we are concerned.
How we work, and why it is built this way
File import only
We work entirely from exports you make from your own system. You stay in control of what leaves and what does not.
Nothing installed
No software goes onto your recorder or your network, and no credentials are ever taken. There is nothing of ours to remove afterwards.
You keep your original
You send a copy and keep your original in place. What you send stays on one machine rather than going to cloud storage, and at the end you tell us in writing whether the working copies are deleted or held.
Limits in writing
Where the evaluation cannot reach a conclusion, the report says so plainly. You are paying for what is true, not for what sounds good.
What it will not do
- It does not identify people, and it will never tell you who somebody is.
- It does not prove theft, and it does not decide what happened. It organizes the record so the people whose job that is can look at it.
- It does not watch your cameras and it does not send live alerts. This is documentation of what your system already recorded.
- It does not prevent enforcement, and we will never tell you it does. Whether faster retrieval or a cleaner record changes any outcome is not ours to claim.
- Having our report does not make you compliant, and we will never suggest that it does. Compliance with your license stays yours, which is exactly why we write the limits down.
- It is not legal advice, and we are not your attorney. What our findings mean for your license is a conversation for you and your lawyer.
Two more things we volunteer before you ask. You would be among our first live evaluations, and we say so in writing rather than leaving you to wonder. And if what we find suggests this does not fit your situation, we will tell you that plainly, because an owner who has been sold to before is usually more reassured by the limits than by the promises.
What happens next
- You decide, on your own schedule. Use the form at the bottom of this page, or reply to the thread it arrived in if somebody sent it to you. Questions are welcome before any money moves.
- We agree the scope in writing. You see exactly what the $1,500 covers before you pay it, and the price does not move after that.
- You send exports from your own system. We tell you precisely what to export and how. Nothing is installed and nobody needs your passwords.
- You get the report. Written, plain, and yours to keep. If you want the monthly retainer afterwards it is $500 a month, month to month, no minimum, and entirely optional. If you do not, the engagement ends complete.
Tell us what you are working with.
These few answers save most of a first phone call. They tell us whether an evaluation would be worth it to you before either of us spends an hour finding that out, and if we think it would not be, we would rather say so early than take the work.
Send an inquiryWe read these ourselves, so it is a person seeing it and not a queue. You will hear back within one business day. Nothing here puts you under any obligation, and we do not ask for card details at any point before a scope is agreed in writing.
Or write to inquiries@polarityagc.com and a person will answer you.
