Nobody Called

She says nobody called. Watch what is walking next to her while she says it.

Twenty seconds. A woman walks her dog down a night street, on the phone, telling someone that nobody has called her all week. Then she stops mid sentence and asks them to say that again. The dog, which has been walking ahead of her the whole time, turns around, comes back, and sits down at her feet. She does not notice it for two full seconds.

She says nobody called, over a picture of the one who came back.

How it was made

There is no stock footage in this and no AI video generation. We wrote the renderer that draws it, and it produced 480 frames at 24 a second, one drawing at a time. The sound is made the same way: room tone, her footsteps and the dog, synthesised rather than sampled, with the footsteps placed on the frames where her feet actually land.

We are a small studio in New Jersey, and this is the first film we have put out under our own name. If you want to know why this company exists, there is a note about that.
